Playacar Palace

A 5 story resort with an entrance leading you through a wide marble lobby with a view to the meandering pool with swim--up bar and the beach. Relaxation, intimate, natural surroundings, and on-site Mayan ruins set the stage for a remarkable vacation near the heart of town. The large, well-furnished rooms are very quiet and tropical in style. Each features tile floors, large bathrooms, refrigerators, and balconies with tables and chairs. All but 13 have a view of the sea and bed options include on king bed or two double beds. The lovely suites are even larger and have a wet bar. The main restaurant and the palapa pool restaurant bother offer Mexican and international dishes. There is also a full-scale water sports facility and an 18-hole championship golf course. The Playacar Palace has a Mexican/Mediterranean architecture with a Caribbean ambiance. This five-story beachfront resort offers 185 air-conditioned rooms and suites, each with a hammock on a private balcony or terrace.

The hotel was built around fascinating ruins which can be found throughout the resort, and features the best location in town. It is next to the town of Playa del Carmen and the ferry dock toCozumel, directly in front of the ocean.

Beach: The resort is situated along one of the most unspoiled, uncrowded beaches on the Yucatan Peninsula.
